Salesforce Tower + Transit Center
Why we love it
The 61 story tower, the tallest in San Francisco, is home to Salesforce, retailers + skyline art installations. We find the 11,000 LED lights on top of the Salesforce Tower that make up the highest public art installation, in the United States by artist Jim Campbell and the “Midnight Artist Series” magical. The work from artists that are part of this Series is projected through Campbell’s infrastructure, lighting up the top floors of this 1,070 feet tower with art nightly – and you can see it from 20 miles away!
The Transit Center, which surrounds the bottom quarter of the tower, is home to the region’s newest transit hub and to Salesforce Park. This 5.4 acre public park rests on top of the Transit Center and is a cultural center for all. The Salesforce Park rooftop includes an amphitheater for all types of performance – music, dance, plays, you name it – and spaces that host artistic programs. Hundreds…make that thousands (!) of trees, plants and flowers grow in this urban park, making it the best community botanical garden around and a yellow ropey play structure for kids sits in the middle of it all.
On the ground floor of the Transit Center you’ll find Artspan, the Salesforce Transit Center Mural Project. Artists have painted murals covering more than 10,000 square feet of level retail storefront windows and doors. These murals beautifully hide the vacant interior spaces until businesses move in (and after, well, we want the murals to stay.)

Lyft and their art bike project
Why we love it
Lyft bikes make Bay Area city streets and bike racks so darn pretty. Lyft partnered with three artists to turn their fleet of bikes into mobile works of art. The lucky artists: Hueman from Oakland and Zio Ziegler and Barry McGee from San Francisco. And lucky us. See more on this collab here.

Why we love it
Oakland has lots of murals, but often on public or brick and mortar facades. We love that a big car brand went for it and let different emerging artists like DJ Agana, Raiz and Jarold Cadion bring murals back to life by expressing their thoughts on the cultural landscape on the exterior walls of this auto dealership on Broadway near 27th Street.
